They say Armenian food is one of the most unique cuisines in the world. For not just because of their unforgettable taste but also known for its unique cooking techniques. We have been soul-searching our way out since ages now (not literally ;P ) for some really good die hard Armenian food is in Delhi, and finally the beasts of our taste buds can be tamed.
The Astonishing variety in food clubbed with a stunning rooftop, plants and touches of Armenian designs is a dream in terms of decor, and the menu is in sync.garden green interiors definitely makes the place an Armenian dream. As soon as we got our hands on the food menu the first dish to land on our table was the Armenian Mezze platter, with the traditional Lavaash chips and 4 in house dips. Moving along in the line of starters we went for the Jurassic cheese pizza, with the thinnest pizza base I have ever had. The Armenian lavash pizza was topped with indigenous cheeses and rocket leaves. If you are a mustard lover you would definitely love the dish we tried, Prawn Tolma : braised onions filled with prawns marinated in kasundi mustard and coconut milk baked all together.
Drifting to the healthier side of the menu next came in the Amaranth Salad with spicy tamarind dressing. The salad had a nice citric taste to it. Coming to the main course we tried the Lavaash Fish, a base fish recipe marinated to perfection and baked inside a lavish bread and Iranian Lamb Koobideh Kebabs which were truly mouth watering.
And off course the highlight of our taste expedition was the dessert; Chefs Gata, baked puff pastry filled with sweetened homemade cheese served with cinnamon syrup and homemade berry ice cream. And not to forget their bar, with some real amazing and innovative cocktails. Our favorite pick was the Frozen Kala Khatta Margarita which gets a 10 on 10!
If you’d like doing brunches and experiencing world cuisines then Lavaash by Saby is a perfect spot for you with arty cafe feels, serving light Armenian dishes in a bright, airy venue with a relaxed vibe.
